Right, so apparentely, time got away from me last week and in the excitement of the break I (gasp!) forgot to blog. My fault completely. So, in making up for lost blog time, I am going to do a double whammy blog sesh right now. Nice. Last week, workshopping was the best segue into break. And sitting outside on a quintessential SLU fall day felt very "college". And, it was just nice to be outside and entrusted to do our workshop on our own. I really like the workshop style my group has evolved ourselves into. We get it done and we have a good time in the process, allowing it to be a discussion as well as a critique/workshop. I was pleasantly surprised by the reaction of my peers towards my piece. Along the lines of Lauren, who also wrote about an affair, I think that I got people talking because, as she said, affairs stir people up. I was pleased that people liked my storyline, and that is was not as obvious or cliche as I had expected it to be. I think my characters certainly do need more development and substance, and I need to make this idea of a Mrs. Robinson not seem so far fetched, because in my mind it is only the story of soap opera televison/movies. I think I want to continue on with this story though, because I enjoyed writing this one so much more than the first. We will see what happens!
