blogggggggity blog

I did not like the exercise we did in class today. I found it to be boring and although I know it was supposed to help me with fiction writing I don't believe it did at all. I think it may have ruined the story for me.... On a more positive note, I liked how we went over "Tate" on MOnday. Looking at each character helped identify their major differents, wants, needs, and conflicts. I could hear each separate voice clearly. The contrast of the characters personalities wis what made the story so great. For thsi weekends assignment it was also helpful reaidng the critics piece in "O Henry" I have a better idea of how I might see praises and other positive or negative thoughts. I enjoyed the point that craig made when he said that the first two critics were praising the art work of the writing where as the last one was just analyzing. I think analyzing can be neccessary in a critique, but to a certain point. When I write my own book review I think I will focus more on the artwork of the writing. The beautiful descriptions... the differences in characters... and not totally pull the piece apart-- The chat we had on grammar was interesting because we just had a similar chat in another one of my classes. I feel like although we were supposed to many students did not learn about the use of commas... and other things in high school.
